A war memorial honouring the men and women who left Tawonga and district to serve their country was officially opened in Pioneer Park, Tawonga on the eve of Remembrance Day Sunday 10th November 2019.
One year later the community once again paid their respects in laying wreaths at the memorial, and the placement of poppies. Pictured on the right below are Sue Ryder and Karen Wilkinson at the memorial this year. Sue is Secretary of the Tawonga and District Community Association and Karen grew up in the Kiewa Valley and was present at the opening of the memorial in 2019 (without mask in the photo on the left).
